3rd World Farmer

3rd World Farmer is a very thought provoking game. It is a well put together simulation game which mimics the life of a farming family living in a 3rd world country. You pick what crops to grow, livestock to buy, shelters to build, equipment to buy, and modern improvements to invest in. Beware, every year an event happens. A disease may wipe out one of your types of livestock/crops, or a tornado may destroy your shed. Even worse, one of your family members may get very ill. These are all hardships that the people of the 3rd world countries endure everyday. The simulator allows you to manage your family by sending children to school, marrying off children, having babies, or letting any family member leave at any time. You have to keep them healthy, which can cost quite a bit. Once your family (laborers) are under control, you have to choose how you want to spend the little money you gain. Different crops produce different yields each year, so don't get too comfortable in your planting strategy. I really enjoyed this game. It helps open your eyes as well as forces you to adjust throughout the game to the adverse conditions.

Footie Manager is a fun and exciting soccer simulation game. You can select a league and team to compete with other managers from around the world. Release players, pick up free agents, trade players, select your formation, tweak your strategy, and pick your starting lineup before you take on other teams. There are normally games twice a week. It is free to try for one season, but then it cost a minimal yearly fee to continue to manage your team. Keep your team for several seasons to build a soccer dynasty. There are in game money bonuses for winning a season or award which will help you buy more free agents and continue to build your team.
