Ikariam

Ikariam is a browser-based, real time strategy game. You start out with a plot of land, 40 people, and a little bit of building supply. The point of the game is to turn your plot of land into an multi-island empire. There are four basic types of islands which you can start at. Each has a different resource as well as wood which can be used for building supplies. These different resources and wood are required to build and expand your city buildings. Eventually you can build a palace which allows you to expand to other islands. You can have up to 10 cities assuming your palace is big enough. Your population will also grow according to how happy your citizens are. These citizens can be used to create wealth, mine your resource, or chop trees for wood. You can also build your army and city defenses. Upgrade your barracks to raise an army for defense or to conquer the entire island. Each city is run by real people which you can trade with and enter alliances with. Contact the people on your islands and decide if you want to form a powerful island alliance or if you just take over your island. You also have to hire scientists to research new technologies for you to take advantage of. Make sure you upgrade your academy so you can stay smarter than the others on your island. The possibilities are endless. The game runs continuously so you can always be working towards your next move. This game will have you addicted quickly and keep you entertained for hours.
