Travian

Travian is a medieval style game where you build an empire starting with one village. You build up your village, resources, and military to develop your power. In the village, you can develop buildings which will let you research, expand, and improve your living conditions. The resources map allows you to bring in more resources every hour to increase the amount of buildings or units you can build every day. Military allows you to attack and raid other villages while defending your villages. Once you get large enough, you can expand to several villages. Team up with your friends or new friends in an alliance to increase your power, or try to build your strength on your own. Travian is an addicting game which will keep you coming back several times each day. It gives you many options of how to develop your villages. You will enjoy your time building your empire.

Cent Poker

Cent Poker is run by the same people as Cent Sports. They are run on very similar concepts. Cent Poker gives you 100 poker chips to sit down and play 1/5 no limit hold-em. Turn your 100 chips into thousands and you can claim your share of the advertising cash. Cent Poker tells you what percentage of the chips you hold, and how that relates to the advertising money. They show you exactly how much incoming cash the site gains from advertisers, so you know how many chips you need to reach the 10 dollar cash out limit. Once your percentage of chips is worth more than 10 dollars, you just send them a message and they send you a check. It is as simple as that. If you lose your chips, they give you another 100 to start off with. They run tables with different blinds as well as sit and go single table tournaments. This is a great way to play poker for free. Maybe you will even work your way up into some serious cash.

Gladiatus

Gladiatus is an addicting gladiator game which places you against thousands of others over the Internet. The point of the game is to simply build your gladiator character up to be the most powerful gladiator in the world. To prove your strength, you can challenge a gladiator up to 4 spots in front of you in the arena. Beat a stronger gladiator and move up until you reach the number one spot. There are several ways your gladiator can become more powerful. Besides fighting other players in the arena, your gladiator can go on quests, explore several areas such as an ancient temple or a wolf den, fight his way through dungeons, train attributes for battle, or work to gain some more gold. Each task will pay you gold as well as give you experience to move up in levels. You can use the gold you earn to buy weapons, armor, food, potions, or some time in training. Training allows you to build up your gladiator's basic statistics. Gladiatus is time based meaning you can only do so much in a certain amount of time. That way you can play for a few hours straight and let your character rest over night, or you can log on several times throughout the day. This game is a lot of fun and can be very addictive. Besides, who doesn't like slaying others in a simple fight to the death?

The Ball Game

This is a fun and very simple game which will keep you entertained for a few minutes. It seems so easy, yet it will drive you crazy. The ball is on a string which is attached to your cursor. The point of the game is to bring the ball up to your cursor so you can click the ball. When you successfully click the ball, it changes colors. I told you it is simple. Give it a shot. It is more fun than you might think.

Viva Caligula

Viva Caligula is a Roman adventure game made by the the people at Adult Swim. The idea of the game is pretty simple, but it is still very addicting. You are a Roman soldier whose simple goal is to purge everyone in Rome. Along the way you can pick up food and wine for health as well as 26 different attacks. Each attack is a key on the keyboard. So you can kill using D (the dagger attack), or when you find the F attack you can set the enemies on fire. There are several unique and fun attacks to find in 7 different sections of Rome. I think you will enjoy this fun and addictive game.

Pirates Online

Pirates Online is a fun massively multi-player game which was designed by Disney. The story line follows the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and adds a little more. You design your pirate and go out into the huge world to make your name known. You can sink ships, board enemy ships, fight enemies on land, finish quests, and fight other pirates. It is easy to get started. You just download the software and open a free account. The catch is to unlock all of the features you have to upgrade to the premium account which is about $5 a month. This free version is great for a few lazy afternoons. You can still join a crew or guild and help other pirates defeat the enemies. There are enough quests and adventures to have a good time for several hours and then you can decide if you want to buy the premium account or just delete the software. I didn't buy it just because I don't have the time, but it is up to you. You will have a good time playing this game either way.

This is an update to an earlier post on Moola. Recently, Moola has added a system which allows 3rd party web sites to host Moola games. A few are now testing and will let you play their new games. Among the new games are: battleship, coin flip, card war, blackjack, several different types of lotteries, and a sports betting game (payouts are based on other Moola player's bets so you can find some really good odds if you search). To find the new games, join the Moola forums and enter the forum titled "Moola-Enabled Games" or click here for a link to the threads. If you aren't familiar with Moola then check my original post here. For an invite, click here. Enjoy the new games and make some money!

Pandemic II

Ever wondered if a disease could come and wipe out the planet Earth? Pandemic II lets you build the disease that will do exactly that. You start as a small virus, bacteria, or parasite with little symptoms such as coughing or fever. As your disease spreads you get more evolution points to develop better symptoms, resistances, or ways of transmission. Balance the diseases lethality, infectivity, and visibility to allow it to spread before countries close borders, airports, hospitals, etc. Eventually, if your disease gets powerful enough, the people of earth will start to create a vaccination. See if you can get your disease to spread to all parts of the world before the vaccination is complete. Don't let anyone live. It isn't as easy to wipe out the world population, but is a great time working on the perfect disease.

Desktop Tower Defence

Desktop Defence is one of the best tower defence games I have ever played. It is a toss up between Desktop Defence and Onslaught for my favorite. This game provides several game types and challenges. There are several types of towers to choose from and different types of creeps to defend from. This game will keep you stuck to the screen for hours. See if you can beat their 100 level challenge or if you can build a fixed map that will survive all the waves. No matter which way to play is your favorite, you will have a great time playing this game.

Pandora Radio

Pandora Radio is a great place to visit while killing time on the internet. Pandora is a completely free online radio which allows you to create your own station. You can type in an artist or song that you like, and Pandora will create a radio station based on music which is related. Then you can tell Pandora if you like the songs they pick or not. Based on your ratings of the songs, your station constantly changes to your liking. Pandora also allows you to skip up to 5 songs per hour. So if you don't like the song they pick, you can just move on. Pandora lets you have 10 radio stations up at all time. This gives you more options if you don't like a song. Just switch stations. There are also several basic genre related stations which you can customize by rating songs. Sign up is completely free and easy. You don't even have to confirm your e-mail. I think you will really enjoy this site. Listen to music for free while you waste time at the other web sites.

Bloxorz

Bloxorz is a flash puzzle game which is quite entertaining. The point is to try and drop the 3d rectangle into a hole the size of the one of the ends. It sounds a little easier than it really is. Especially since there aren't any boundries to keep you from falling off of the level. Cross bridges and use switches to help navigate your way to the hole. Each level has a password so you don't have to start back over. These 33 levels will keep you entertained for quite a while. Enjoy!

Centsports and Moola Updates

There have been some simple changes to Moola and Centsports since I wrote the reviews earlier so I decided to make a post to discuss them both.

Centsports has changed their cash out policy to make the site more financially stable. They are only giving away the money they make that isn't used for site maintenance. This means the cash out process is competitive. Firstly, they changed the minimum cash out balance to $20, but once you reach $20 you can cash out only $10. There is a cash out bracket for those who attempt to cash out each month. The more money you have for your specific bracket, the better chance you have of receiving payment. The bracket system is explained in full here. There are five separate cash out brackets, so even if you only have $10 to cash out you still have a chance to receive payment. The easiest way is just to move your balance up. Here is a link to the different brackets.

Moola has also had a few changes lately. Due to some misunderstandings with Google, the search and win has been disabled for now. Instead, Moola has added the Play Now Booster Wheel which pops up at random times when you are playing games. They have also put in a new savings feature which allows you to set aside a percentage of money you win. This will help you make your way to the $10 cash out. They also added Offerpal to the Booster Zone. Offerpal has several small offers which you can do for a boost up the Moola Tower. Most are only for a dollar or two, but they add up to $950 altogether.

If you haven't already, make sure you visit the Moola and Centsports posts.

The Best Page in the Universe

The title pretty much tells you what Maddox thinks about his own web site. He also thinks he is a pirate, but that is a whole different conversation. Maddox tells it like it is. His pages have very strong opinions which are ridiculous yet hilarious. There are several articles which are just as funny the second time you read them. Graphs and pictures (made from what looks like a simple paint program) help him make his points. I think most people will find this site hilarious. A warning though, if you are easily offended then stay away. Also, make sure you read his hate-mail. The poor people that e-mail in just don't get it. He doesn't update it very often anymore, but there are articles from several years back that will keep you entertained for hours.

3rd World Farmer

3rd World Farmer is a very thought provoking game. It is a well put together simulation game which mimics the life of a farming family living in a 3rd world country. You pick what crops to grow, livestock to buy, shelters to build, equipment to buy, and modern improvements to invest in. Beware, every year an event happens. A disease may wipe out one of your types of livestock/crops, or a tornado may destroy your shed. Even worse, one of your family members may get very ill. These are all hardships that the people of the 3rd world countries endure everyday. The simulator allows you to manage your family by sending children to school, marrying off children, having babies, or letting any family member leave at any time. You have to keep them healthy, which can cost quite a bit. Once your family (laborers) are under control, you have to choose how you want to spend the little money you gain. Different crops produce different yields each year, so don't get too comfortable in your planting strategy. I really enjoyed this game. It helps open your eyes as well as forces you to adjust throughout the game to the adverse conditions.

Ikariam

Ikariam is a browser-based, real time strategy game. You start out with a plot of land, 40 people, and a little bit of building supply. The point of the game is to turn your plot of land into an multi-island empire. There are four basic types of islands which you can start at. Each has a different resource as well as wood which can be used for building supplies. These different resources and wood are required to build and expand your city buildings. Eventually you can build a palace which allows you to expand to other islands. You can have up to 10 cities assuming your palace is big enough. Your population will also grow according to how happy your citizens are. These citizens can be used to create wealth, mine your resource, or chop trees for wood. You can also build your army and city defenses. Upgrade your barracks to raise an army for defense or to conquer the entire island. Each city is run by real people which you can trade with and enter alliances with. Contact the people on your islands and decide if you want to form a powerful island alliance or if you just take over your island. You also have to hire scientists to research new technologies for you to take advantage of. Make sure you upgrade your academy so you can stay smarter than the others on your island. The possibilities are endless. The game runs continuously so you can always be working towards your next move. This game will have you addicted quickly and keep you entertained for hours. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I have.

Here is a good web site for all of you space nerds out there. This is a must see even if you don't have a lot of interest in space and astronomy. Hubble Site provides information about the Hubble Space Telescope as well as information about discoveries, news, and astronomy in general. The best part is the gallery. They have pictures of galaxies, our solar system, nebulae, stars, and the universe. You can also download wallpapers or watch some videos. You can spend several hours there. If you are into the pictures then make sure to see NASA's astronomy picture of the day. Enjoy these sites while you learn a little bit about the final frontier.

Star Wars ASCIImation is exactly what it sounds like. It is Star Wars but in a platform of ASCII. The scenes are surprisingly accurate. You will definitely be amazed by this one.

Not Pron

Not Pron is the perfect time wasting web site. It is the most complex yet simple puzzle game on the web. Each level has a little clue. The clue may be in the source code, url, picture, title of the page, or pretty much anywhere on the web site. From the simple clues, you have to figure out a way to the next level. You may have to change the url to advance or you may have to enter a username and password. This is a very clever puzzle game, and it can be very difficult. You definately have to think outside of the box. You better get started now if you ever want to finish the 81 levels offered on Not Pron.

Samorost

Samorost is a very interesting puzzle type game. You have to point and click objects to help the main character go through the levels. It can get very puzzling, but it is surprisingly addicting. You can search for walkthroughs online, but I would suggest trying the game without them. It will give you much more entertainment without them. The levels are very interesting and the art work in the levels is beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

Sheep Reaction Game

This is a very interesting reaction time game put out by the BBC. The key is not to let the sheep escape the flock by hitting them with tranquilizer darts. The web site records how long it takes you to see the sheep take off and click the dart button. You have 5 attempts to see how fast you can click. Then you are rated based on a scale of 5 which starts with sluggish snail and ends with turbo-charged cheetah. Tell your friends and see who can get the fastest times. This game won't keep you occupied for hours, but it is definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

Stuff White People Like

Stuff White People Like is a funny blog that pokes fun at white people. It is fun spirited and surprisingly true. Every other day or so it is updated with another article about something that white people enjoy. The "about" page calls the blog a "scientific approach to highlight and explain stuff white people like". This might be a bit of a stretch, but you will definately enjoy wasting some time reading these articles.

Despair

We've all seen motivational posters at some time or another. Some may see them in their office or when visiting a doctor. Despair, Inc. has a different point of view on these posters. They create demotivational posters which poke fun at those you are used to seeing. You can purchase calenders and posters, or you can just surf through their large collection for a good laugh. They even allow you to upload your own poster ideas. Personally, I could spend a lot of time just enjoying reading them. Some will leave you laughing for a good while. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

This is a website that doesn't waste much time, but it is definately interesting. Ever wondered where you would end up if you dug a hole straight down and went through to the other side of the earth? The expression generally says you would end up in China, but this web site helped me find out that my hole would end up in the Indian Ocean. Just enter your city, state, and zip code, and you can find where you would end up.

Pogo

Pogo is a web site designed to let you play free games with the chance of winning prizes. The chances of winning prizes on Pogo are slim, but the games are very good. Personally, I only play on Pogo for the games. There are several to choose from and many allow you to compete against other members. Even the games you play on your own allow you to talk to others in the game lobby. Each game has several lobbies to choose from so you can choose the peers you play with. My favorite game is the bowling game, but I play 5-10 different games there. The site is completely free. They allow you to upgrade to Pogo Plus for 40 dollars a year which gives you more games, less ads, and a few other upgrades. There is no real need to upgrade though unless you spend a lot of time on the site. Every game allows you to win points which can be put into prize pools for prize drawings. Several games also have instant win jackpots which you can win. Like I said earlier, the prizes aren't easy to win. The upside to that is most prizes are pretty high (up to $5000). I'm sure you will enjoy the games. You can easily kill a few hours at the office on Pogo.

Netropolis

Netropolis is a fun and free business simulation game. You can create up to 10 companies at a time. Once your first company is created, you enter a map and start to build your businesses. You start out with little food stands and small shops, and once you make some money, you can start to build burger joints and eventually upper class restraunts and shops. It seems simple enough, but other companies in the same city as you will fight you over land and the top of the profit lists. Build up security to protect your businesses, and start fires or write graffiti on your enemies businesses to keep alive and strong in the city. Once you survive in small cities you can move up to bigger cities with bigger and stronger companies involved. All companies are other people on the internet, and profits are updated every 5-10 minutes. There are several guides and forums to help you get started and develop your strategy. This is a fun game that is very addicting. Good luck with your companies!

Cent Sports

Cent Sports is an interesting new web site which was made by a group of students and professionals out of College Station, Texas. It is your normal sports betting web site with a twist. It is completely free! It runs very similar to Moola. They give you ten cents, and you raise your balance via bets until you reach the cash out point of 10 dollars. They pay out via check and paypal. The web site uses the betting lines straight from Vegas. It also offers a 5% referral bonus on all of your referrals bet winnings. This seems like a very generous referral bonus, especially if someone starts to bet higher values. Another feature allows you to watch a video ad after you place your bet for better payouts. So far I have seen added odds after ads of 25%, 50%, and 100%. If your bet would pay out 10 cents and you have a 50% bonus after the ad, you would receive 15 cents when you win. This makes it so you can make money even if you can only win 45-50 percent of your games. Cent Sports will always let you start over from 10 cents if you lose a bet, so don't be afraid to risk it all. This seems like a great web site to make some extra cash. The only downsides I see to this site are: 1. It seems to be in a early beta stage (the web site doesn't look like its been around long, and they admit their new messaging system will have bugs, etc.). 2. It seems like from their business model that they will give out a lot of money quickly. It worries me that they will go out of business before I make cashout. Only time will tell with this problem though, and Moola has a similar business model and seems to be making it strong.
So what are you waiting for? Go set up your account and start placing those bets to turn your 10 cents into hundreds and thousands of dollars!

Join CentSports

UPDATE: Centsports udated its cashout process. Here is a link to the updates post.

Footie Manager is a fun and exciting soccer simulation game. You can select a league and team to compete with other managers from around the world. Release players, pick up free agents, trade players, select your formation, tweak your strategy, and pick your starting lineup before you take on other teams. There are normally games twice a week. It is free to try for one season, but then it cost a minimal yearly fee to continue to manage your team. Keep your team for several seasons to build a soccer dynasty. There are in game money bonuses for winning a season or award which will help you buy more free agents and continue to build your team. Attendance and ticket sales are based on performance and expenses are based on salaries and quality of fields. A complex player style system will make sure you put the right players together for maximum results. This game is a perfect mix of complexity and simplicity that will give you plenty of options without leaving you confused. You will be addicted from the first time you log on.
